Changing the lock on a UPVC door
UPVC doors usually have one lock which is called a euro-cylinder. This locks the entire door. The cylinder is easy to change.

With the door ajar un-screw the large retaining bolt on the side of the door positioned in line with the cylinder.

After removing the bolt put the key in the lock and turn it slightly to the left or right (depending on which side you have the key in). Jiggle it a bit and pull gently. You should feel the cylinder release. You can then slide it right out. That's it!

NB it won't come out unless you have the key in and turn it.

Reverse the process to put the new one on.
